Cars as vessels of intertidal transformation
Terrarium reimagines the parked car as a vessel of environmental exchange. Common small car models found across Plymouth are sealed watertight and fitted with hidden tanks and pumps that control the flow of brackish water into and out of the cabin.
Interiors are seeded with intertidal grasses and reeds, allowing miniature tidal ecosystems to take root through repeated flooding and draining — an uncanny image of adaptation in a time of rising seas.
